Fairy tales have the ability to touch the emotional world of children. Depending on their psychological-emotional disposition, the lessons learned through a fairy tale can accompany them throughout their lives. We believe that this fairy tale helps children to take an extra step towards teamwork and solidarity.
Loucas Skyllouriotis was born in Katokopia, Cyprus, on October 22, 1954. He has been a dentist since 1980. In recent years he has been working along with his children at the SKY DENTAL CENTER in Nicosia. Researching and creating are among his hobbies. Sculpting pleases him especially. He loves nature a great deal and feels very connected to the land. He likes to cultivate it and enjoy its fruits. Since 2008, he started writing lyrics for music. He has around 60 songs to his credit, two of which have been awarded in competitions with the second prize. He has also released a CD with children’s songs. Among them is the song with the same title as the fairy tale and is posted on the internet.
He has published another children’s story entitled “VALANTO AND HER DREAM” and is preparing the next one, inspired by the children’s songs “TA DIAMANTAKIA” (Little Diamonds) and “I KYRIA TERIDONA” (Mrs. Caries).
Anastasia Photiou grew up in the province of Nicosia in Cyprus, reading the adventures of heroes and heroines from the myths of Ancient Greece. She is a graduate of Bournemouth University in England in Computer Animation and Visualisation and did her postgraduate studies at Goldsmiths University of London where she studied Children’s Literature: Children’s Illustration. She has written and published her own fantastic stories for young children while collaborating with writers and artists from Cyprus and England, where she lives and works.
